This policy covers the website calsa.app and the Calsa web app at app.calsa.app. It explains what we store in your browser and why. How we handle personal information in general is in our Privacy Policy.
The short version
- We don’t use advertising cookies or advertising tracking pixels. PostHog is our selected product analytics provider. Nothing about your visit goes to ad networks or data brokers.
- Some storage is needed for the site and the app to work. It can’t be switched off here, but you can clear it in your browser.
- Optional product analytics in PostHog use random IDs and permitted activity events, without health data. They start only after you agree. You can say no at any time; Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track mean no.
What we use
| Name or type | Where | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Offline cache (service worker) | calsa.app, app.calsa.app | Saves a small “you’re offline” page and site files so pages load fast and still show something without a connection. It holds no personal information. | Until a new version of the site replaces it, or you clear site data |
| Calculator details | calsa.app | Remembers the units, formula, age, height, weight and activity you type into a calculator, so the next calculator opens already filled in. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us. | 3 days after you last change them, or until you clear site data |
| Sign-in session | app.calsa.app | Keeps you signed in and protects your account. | Up to 180 days after you last use the app, or until you sign out |
| App storage on your device | app.calsa.app | Keeps drafts, entries waiting for a connection, recent foods and the last 7 days of your diary so the app works offline. It’s covered by our Consumer Health Data Policy. | Until it is sent to our servers, or you sign out |
| Optional analytics ID and general source tag (planned PostHog integration) | calsa.app, app.calsa.app | After your choice, connects permitted visits and activity to understand conversion and improve Calsa. It contains no email, health information or personal campaign recipient ID. | 13 months after your last visit |
| Network security | calsa.app, app.calsa.app | Our network provider, Cloudflare, may set a short-lived cookie to tell people from bots and block attacks. | Usually 30 minutes |
Everything in this table is strictly necessary, except the optional analytics ID and source tag.
Cookie settings
PostHog integration is planned. This policy does not mean that collection is already active. Before activation, analytics controls must be available here and in the app privacy settings, and the implemented storage names must be listed on this page. Optional collection stays off until your explicit choice.
- In every country, optional product analytics stay off until you agree. Turning them off stops collection and starts deletion of your analytics events and profile. Essential sign-in and payment processing are not affected.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an opt-out of optional cookies and visit measurement.
- You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you block the strictly necessary ones, the web app can’t keep you signed in or work offline.
In the mobile apps
The Calsa apps from the App Store and Google Play don’t use cookies for tracking. They do not include advertising trackers or track you across other companies’ apps. PostHog product analytics are a separate optional choice in Privacy and consents and exclude health data, screen recordings and anything you type. If you separately allow optional install attribution, the app uses Apple’s AdServices or Google Play Install Referrer only to identify the installation’s campaign. No health information or purchase and usage events are sent for this purpose. The choice is off by default and can be withdrawn; details are in our Privacy Policy.
