Calorie calculators and daily needs

Every calorie calculator asks for the same things: age, height, weight, sex and how much you move. What comes back is a starting estimate. Two people with identical answers can still burn a few hundred calories a day apart, so treat the number as a first guess.

Two or three weeks of real meals and weigh-ins will tell you more than any formula. Start here for what TDEE, BMR and maintenance actually mean, which one fits your goal, and how to correct it once your own numbers come in. If your meals are already in Calsa, that correction is mostly done for you.
